I’ve read the Fruit of The Spirit Scripture a zillion times over the years. But I looked at as a list of how to act.
Loving, kind, gentle, joyful, patient, etc.
You know, perfect. And of course, none of us are perfect!
It took reading it over and over again before it sunk deep into me, what it was saying.

These qualities grow in you as you follow Jesus.
It’s not like Jesus is saying. This I how you have to behave to follow me.
Following Jesus is like hanging out with your best friend. The more you hang together, the more you behave Him.
Have you ever watched a TV show, every night, and after a season or many, you start picking up on their sayings? It happens even if you try not to do it. And it’s why your parents don’t want you to hang out with the wrong crowd.
So if you hang with Jesus every day, the Holy Spirits’ characteristics will grow within you.
That’s the way I saw it one day. And suddenly the scripture wasn’t the list of act this way or else. It was a journey of growth.
One that I want to share with you, through exploring scripture while playing with quilt blocks and fabric.
