Do you think it’s mere Coincidence?

But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.” John 5:17 NLT

The events I’m about to tell you could be chalked up to mere coincidence – if you believe in that sort of thing.

For the record, I don’t.

God is always working in our life. The things we call coincidence are moments our eyes are opened to see it.

So this is my story…

This story revolves around morning devotional and prayer time.

I used to pull out my devotional first. My prayer time was short and usually was based on what I read. And that’s a fine way to begin a time of prayer!

But, A few years ago, I changed up that routine. I decided to spend time in prayer BEFORE cracking open a book. The “coincidences” I’ve experienced since never cease to amaze me!

One particular morning, I was beating myself up a bit. While praying, I asked the Lord to let me see myself as you see me.

I opened up my devotional to read the following:

Coincidence?

Let me tell you about another experience.

I began praying over a frustrating situation. With no clear choice in front of me, I was ready to make a rash decision!

After praying and journaling about it – this is what I read: “… our goal should be to hang on, trusting that God has his own purpose at work…”

Ann Spangler & Jean E. Syswerda, Women of the Bible, a Yearlong Study of 52 Remarkable women (Guideposts, 2022) pg. 91

These two instances happened within a few weeks of each other. But I know it happens a lot more.

Until next time, enjoy your day and the journey

and keep your eyes open for all the God moments in your life 🙂
