Years ago, I bought a Magic Wand. It’s a quilters tool. You can line up the center of it along the diagonal of your square and draw a line on each side for sewing. I love this tool to make my half and quarter-square triangle blocks.
But, when I shared it in a Quilters group, it wasn’t met with quite the same enthusiasm.

Why do you need that? Why waste your time drawing those sewing lines? I draw a line down the center a sew 1/4” away. My reaction? “La te da” for you. And then I quit the group.

The thing is?
I couldn’t sew a straight line without a guide if my life depended on it. And judge a 1/4″ seam? Nope, that isn’t my strong point.
I don’t know about you, but…
I need help to keep my paths straight. I need a guide. And there ain’t nothin’ wrong with having a guide to help us out.

Registration is now open for the Seeds of Love 2023 Quilter’s Devotional Journey.
It’s the reason I take time each morning to spend with God.
It helps me in times of need – like this past month after losing Darcy (our sweet pup). It reminds me no matter what kind of day I’m facing – God’s with me, God’s “got my back”, and He’s in control.
A guide makes all the difference in the world…
Until next time, enjoy your day and the journey

Adele, I love this post! Not only for spiritual guidance but sewing too. With cold weather I miss sitting on my prayer porch each morning and being in the word. The kitchen is just not the same. Annnddd I have a magic wand and forgot to use it on my first Seeds of Love block!

Well I guess that person was never taught to keep quiet if she has nothing good to say! I have a similar ruler and I love it.
