Maybe you’ve had this experience.
You’ve finally put the finishing touches on a project! And even met your deadline! Elated, you thank God for the last-minute inspiration.

But a couple of minutes later? You’re already thinking ahead, planning, and worrying about next week’s deadline.
That was me a couple of weeks ago.
I sat in my kitchen, trying to string together a post that made sense. The minutes ticked by, and my frustration grew.
I finally threw up my hands in defeat and let it go.

Registration is now open for the Seeds of Love 2023 Quilter’s Devotional Journey.
That’s when it happened. Divine inspiration. My half-written blog post came together in a few minutes! I thanked God for the post, did a happy dance, pressed publish, and sent it to my readers. And thanked God again.
A couple of minutes later?
I was already worrying about the next post! What will I write about? Will anything inspire me? What if…
I wonder if I’ll ever learn this lesson:
God always provides, and His timing is perfect. Always.
Inspiration seems to hit at just the right time.
Whether it’s picking out fabric for a quilt, composing a piece of music, or writing my blog post. It happens.
Subscribe to the blog (below) and my newsletter so you won’t miss a beat.
It’s not that you don’t have to do the work.
Before I delight in You became a song, it was weeks at the piano “doodling” on the keys – playing notes until it started coming together.
I leave quilts and quilt blocks on my design board until an idea starts to form. It’s the same with any creative project.
Work at it – but take breaks
It’s when you try to force an idea, work at it until you’re weary, that’s when it can fall apart.
We need to take time to rest – even when it doesn’t make sense.
Inspiration happens. At the perfect time.
Until next time, enjoy your day and the journey
