Let go, Let God! What does it mean?

Let go let god, what does that mean

At the end of a recent podcast, I was more confused than helped. Was I giving my life to God in the morning only to take back control by mid-day?

Proverbs 3:5

Oh, just let go, let God, they tell you…

But what does it mean? Do I just sit in my corner of the world and do nothing? Wait for the garden to be planted, words to appear for a blog post?

We know that isn’t the answer.

God worked for six days to create our beautiful spinning planet. (And rested on the seventh), it would follow suit that we are supposed to work too!

God may want you to let go of something, but the gifts and talents He gave you? I’m not so sure about that.

I look at my writing, my piano, and my quilting. Gifts and talents I have been given. These bring enjoyment to my day and hopefully bless others.

I admit, there are days when I have no clue why God wants me to write. Or practice the same Chopin piece for 2 years. For what I ask?

I’ll tell God, why bother? I have a blog no one reads, I play piano that no one hears, and I create quilts that haven’t sold. Why bother?

That makes me anxious, it makes me want to work 7 days a week on my projects to control the outcome. And then I don’t rest.

The thing is, you are reading my blog post, and I thank you. I will play piano for others again. And my quilts do sell.  All these things happen in God’s time.

Letting go of the things we do, because it feels overwhelming isn’t the answer. But, letting go of thinking they don’t matter, ( because everything we do matters!), is what we need to let go of.

So, what does Let go, Let God mean to me?

  • It’s letting go of the anxiety.
  • Letting go of negavitive thinking
  • Trusting in God’s plan
  • And resting!

I hope you will trust in God’s plan for you today!

Until next time, enjoy your day and the journey
