My husband walked in the door and exclaimed. “You found your mouse!”
I replied, “yeah, I bought Feta Cheese”.
He looked at me quizzically and asked, “What’s feta cheese got to do with it?”
Good Question! What does Feta Cheese got to do with it?
I know mice love cheese, but this wasn’t that kind of mouse!
Let me explain.
Several months ago I lost the wireless mouse to my computer. After a “thorough” search I concluded the mouse was lost.
Are you still wondering about that feta cheese?
Do you believe that God cares about all the details of your life? Including those mundane tasks?
Then read on.
God was nudging me to go out and do two quick errands.
- Go to the bank.
- Go to the grocery store.
The last thing I wanted to do?
Go out. I don’t like banking or grocery shopping on a warm sunny day, never mind the bleak, dreary day that it was.
Reluctantly, I did go. And that’s when I bought the feta cheese.
I admit, getting the errands done felt good. I could check some boxes off the to do list and I had some feta cheese to make a new dish with!
Or so I thought.

I soon discovered the cheese wasn’t in any of the grocery bags.
I trudged out to the car, in my big clunky winter boots, and searched, hoping it had just fallen out of the bag.
Unfortunately, the feta cheese was nowhere to be found. This, my friends, was a total bummer. Not only did it cost over $6.00, but my heart was set on that chicken dish.
You know what I found instead? You guessed it, the missing mouse!
Yup, I found it in the back seat of the car, nestled under a CD.
I know finding an inexpensive wireless mouse isn’t a monumental event but…
I tell you this story for several reasons.
It’s a reminder that God is ever-present in our lives. He watches over us, cares about the little things as much as the big deal stuff.
He also wants you to follow through on those things he is placing in your heart to do.
Yes, even those chores.
The thing is…
If I hadn’t gone out to do those mundane tasks, I wouldn’t have bought the feta cheese.
I would not have found the mouse if I wasn’t looking for the feta cheese, which never made it into the grocery bag.
It gave me an insight into how God can use all things. It also restored my confidence in developing the Seeds of Love Quilter’s Devotional.

So what is God nudging you to do today? If you listen and follow, you might be surprised at the outcome.
Until next time, enjoy your day and the journey
