A Joyful Experiment

a joyful experiment

One morning, while spending time in prayer and writing in my journal, a joyful idea popped into my head.

No matter what happens during the day,

find the joy in it and write them down.

It’s all about the Little Joyful Things

These joys don’t have to be humongous things like winning the lottery. In fact, it’s the little joyful things that count the most.

For instance, while I’m sitting here typing this, I can hear the birds singing and chirping. This morning I was greeted with a gorgeous sunrise. If I hadn’t gone into my bedroom to make the bed at that precise moment, I would have missed it. And, by the way, it didn’t last long.

You can find joy in the frustration too. I was working on a blog post about the fruit of patience. When I chucked a box of saran wrap across the counter, proving once again I have some work to do in the patience category, I laughed at the irony of it all.

But it’s not always easy.

There are days when people can really test you! One day I had a message that got me so dang irritated, I focused on it so much it made me crazy! Oh, how I wish I could have just remembered to find the joy at that moment! Because finding the joy in all things makes the day go way better!

And that too is another joy, the joy of learning! (It just took awhile for me to find that joy :))

Find your joys in the moment.

And when things don’t go as you want, hoped, or planned? Remember that the Joy of the Lord is always with you.

Until next time, enjoy your day and the journey
