I have a 5 Step Plan for my day that helps me get done what needs to be done. No Matter what.
My to-do list is way too long. Can you relate?
I wake up feeling tired and overwhelmed just thinking about it.

It’s not all things I have to do either. The list also includes things I want to do Piano practice, writing, quilting, gift-giving ideas. There are all sorts of projects that pop in my head during the day, ticking up the list too.
And at the end of the day? I’m discouraged because I didn’t get half the stuff done I wanted to do.
*sigh*
The fact is to-do lists are a part of life. The good, the bad, and the ugly. And stuff happens to make the best planned out day go up in smoke.

So what’s a girl to do?
Pray and give it all to the Lord. Each morning, each minute. Each step
Sounds way too simple, doesn’t it? But it works.
I started doing this a few weeks ago and found my days falling into a beautiful rhythm.
I pretty much give my day planner to the Lord. Asking for His guidance and wisdom to make the right choices.
Once done I don’t take it back. (Well, that’s my goal anyway!) And if you try this, you can’t take it back either. You have to let the day wrap around you.
If you find yourself rushing through a task to get to the next one, you’re probably fighting the day.
He has it all planned for your any way you know.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”
Psalm 32:9 (ESV)
My 5 Step Plan
- Do make your plans for the day.
- Give them to God.
- Take a deep breath and walk through your day.
- Listening for God’s voice.
- Focus on Jesus. (especially when you start stressin’ or rushing around
You’ll be amazed at how much you do get done.
And how much fun the day can become. (Even if it’s housework.)
What the 5 step plan isn’t
- This isn’t about being lazy and blowing things off.
- It’s not about being super woman (or man).
- It’s not about being unrealistic, for instance, if your to do list is a mile long – Your probalby not going to get it all done in a day.
The one thing I want to add, since I started doing this my I have a better outlook and attitude towards the day.
Hope you’ll give it a try.
Until next time, enjoy your day and the journey
