Might as well Give up, right?

I woke up this morning thinking, well you can’t just give up because the successful side of a writing career looks scary!

And who worries about success anyway?

I love to write and I believe that’s what God put me on earth to do.

But sometimes I get ahead of myself.

I picture myself being a successful author because it’s a good thing to have a vision.

All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts.”

James Allen, As a Man Thinketh. *affiliate link

And that’s when the fear of success and what that means makes me stop in my tracks.

I get scared.

Scared of what I see other successful authors doing.

But I need to remember God will help me.

What goes through my head is something like. Oh, I couldn’t do that. That’s just not for me. I don’t like to travel. And what if I had to do an interview? I’d get all tongue-tied and sound like a bloomin’ idiot!

So, might as well just give up, right?

This is what I need to remember and I want to share it with you.

  • God isn’t asking me to travel. Not yet. Maybe not ever. Just blog. That’s it, nothing super scary (but scary enough) 🙂
  • It’s unfair to play the comparing game. Those successful people? They’re sources of inspiration and motivation.
  • Giving up now? At the beginning? That’s as silly as giving up for fear of failure.
  • And the most important point. God tells me over and over again to not fear. (Isaiah 43:13)

There are going to be times when moving on makes perfect sense. Maybe it’s just the break you need to look at things from a different perspective.

Today I’m writing because it’s what I believe God has asked me to do. Right here from the Bungalow. It’s enough. And I’m not going to let a silly fear of success or failure get in the way. I hope you won’t either!

God is with us, and watching over us.

Until next time, enjoy your day and the journey
